using keyboard with 2000

hey,
i understand that people use keyboards with their mpcs for basslines
just wondering how the keyboard does that?
how do you get those basslines on the keyboard?

The mpc can sample the keyboard's bass or can record it as midi data.
Most kbds have bass presets or control other modules with bass programs.
I don't own a 2000 but this applies to all mpcs.
