Firstly let me apologise for the fact that this isn't an MPC related question, but I've tried other forums to no avail!

I have seen several bits of information on the Korg MicroKontrol and don't quite understand whether or not the pads are velocity sensitive.

Can they be used to send full level or velocity sensitive information, or are they fixed. The Korg site managed to convince me of both at the same time!

from taking a look at the website, it says that they can be used to trigger samples at full velocity. which sounds like they arent vel semsitive. however, if you look at the spec sheet it says the 16 Pads can transmit velocity or fixed value.

i'd go with the spec sheet and say that they are velocity sensitive but can be set to transmit at a fixed velocity. but i wouldnt expect those pads to match up to the other two options (mpd16, trigger finger) you were considering in your other thread.

Yeah, thats the same bit I read on their website that I found confusing. Thanks for your interpretation mate.

I've had a feel of the pads in a shop and they are surprisingly nice. I'm just trying to decide what would be best when all things are considered like space and money. I can get a Korg MicroKontrol for £125 which makes it financially a great buy (especially as I can sell on my Edirol PCR-30).

Still torn though and can't see how I can ever get a definative ruling without trying them in my setup for a few weeks which is obviouslly not possible.

Gonna have to think about this one.
