Real, newb question here.

what do i need the EXM128 card for? what will it do?

And how about the HDM10 and harddrive?

I'm just having trouble understanding how things are stored on the MPC. At the moment i'm making beats with no EXM128, no harddrive and just a 512MB flash card.

Please can someone explain in non geek talk how all these added extras will benefit me.

Cheers for your help
Peace out.

The EXM128 card expands the mpcs 'working memory' (RAM). To play any sample, it must be loaded into working memory.

Expanding RAM increases the total number/length of samples you can use in one song, or play in many songs without having to stop playback, goto the LOAD menu and load in new samples.

Samples in working memory disappear when you turn off the mpc. That's where the flash and/or harddrive come in, you save sh*** on there so you can reload it next session, back from the flash/hd into your RAM.
