Can someone state everything That the USB connectivity can do since the 2000xl cant?

USB is just used for moving files from the MPC 2500 (Flash card or hard drive) to your computer and back again. Nothing more.

Can someone explain the grid edit?

And dosent the 2500 come with some type of software?

Grid edit, check the manual, it expalins it.

Software, call your mpc2500 dealer and ask about everything that comes with it..

These are things u can do for yourself.

At leaset try to help yourself.

What I would do-on the computer-is chop up some samples or create a loop. Then store it on a external hard drive. It saves money on buying media. You can downlload online samples then drag and drop them to your mpc. This saves time, plus the mpc 2500 loads samples five times faster than the 2000xl. You can use Celemony, DSP Quatto or Recycle to edit or add effects to samples. Or you can do it in your 2500-chop mode. The usb is the bridge between your mpc and your computer.

Why would I make phone calls when i can get help from ppl who have it within their grasp and actually use and have a better understanding then ppl who just sell it?

Most cats on here won't take the time to explain something as simple as Grid Edit when it's in the manual, and then again, you don't even have the machine to try it out.

Sometimes the people selling the machine will have good info for you.
(not all the time just sometimes).

What about that manual, it's free to download and look through even if you don't have the machine. If you had have read that and even minutely understood I don't think you would have asked the first 2 questions.

I've read through the manual and it addresses 2 of the questions you asked about. That's all.

Hell, I'm interested in buying it to cause of all the things I can do with the cd drive and q-link sliders. I'm SERIOUSLY thinking about trading my 2kxl to some shop and get credit but I loves my orange to death. Hard choice..

Of course if you call a sales company. They are going to tell you the 2500 is better. I wouldn't stay better, but more convenient. There are always going to be cats-like dre, scott, timbo or whoever-using some type of gear to make beats. If it works for you and you love it, don't waste $$$ on new gear-there will be some thing to replace the 2500. I had the 4000 then down graded to the 2500 for portable reasons. I mainly purchased the 4000 for the 4 midi outs-I used to sequence on cubase and the triton. If you can make live beats on a sp1200 then why get something different. Unless you really want it. But as far as my view of the 2500, I love it!
