MPC1000 + Oxygen 8 midi keyboard

yo everybody. I've got an MPC1000 and a tiny oxygen 8 midi keyboard controller. was just wondering what the best way to hook the two up is.

And i don't really understand how the whole thing would work. Would i save samples to my MPC1000, and assign them to the keys on my keyboard, and play them that way. Basically i just wanna play piano parts and basslines and stuff on the keyboard.

And i'm kind of looking to do this in more of a live sense, but also in production as well. Peace out, and cheers for the help

cheers brother krux. I'm in brisbane, and at the moment it's 32 degrees celsius! I'm sweating all over my MPC!

in those threads you posted, people were talking about having template programs for use with their keyboards. Any ideas where to get these? people always say to look in their signature for samples and stuff, but i can't see where their signatures are.

Where abouts do i click to get that stuff?

p.s, if anyone wants to make a really useful and interesting video, combining a midi keyboard and an MPC to make a beat would be an excellent one to make! hint hint.

You don't need a video man. Trust me, with all the info on this message board alone you should be set.

Regarding templates. Someone may have posted one in the past just for the hell of it, but most would make their own. Its not hard at all. Just make a program and tune each pad up and down at equal intervals. For example,
pad#1, bankA = -15
pad#2= -10
pad#3 = -5
pad#4 = 0
pad#5 = +5
pad#6 = +10
pad#7 = +15

Apply that however you want, to whichever pads, with whatever tuning (intervals).
If you search you might find a template someone made with all 64 pads tuned and ready to go, but I'm not sure. If not, someone in the 1000 forum might be nice enough to upload one for you.

Got no sun down in UK! (or is that up in the UK???) I'm thinking of using a similar setup with a radium 61 for live work. What I was planning to do was connect the Radium's midi out to the midi in of the MPC and then do what you say...

so, lets say i started with a pure c note, how much would i have to tune it up to get a c sharp? 10%, 3%, 7%? I wanna be able to play this stuff with a band, so i have to have the tunings right, or it's not gonna work at all.

why don't you just look in the midi note screen on the 1k. mode+pad9 (midi/sync) then press the F key under Notes. you will see the pads and the notes C, C# and so on....
