new mpc1000 ,how does it sound in comparison to old one

i was weondering if someone who has used and knows their sound coming from the older generation mpc to the new 1000,2000,or2500.is the sound the same...better worse same..

i am deciding wether to buyt new or old one..

it's a 16 bit sampler... the sound you put in it delivers out.
good sound in good sound out.
