Fostex FD-4 MultiTrack recorder?

i tried to search for info on this but i couldn't find exactly what i was looking for. so, im pretty sure this multitracke recorder will work wit my 1K but i wanna make sure(does it?). since it uses an external zip drive for storage, i was wondering if it would be ok to sell the beats on these zip disks(does theFD-4 save in .wav or another filetype?) or can i use my scsi-to-usb cable to connect the zip drive (or FD-4) to my pc and burn the zips onto cd through this method? finally, of course im diggin this multitrack recorder since im thinking of gettin it, but being thats its a low,LOW, budget multitrack recorder, what do ya think of it's quality?

I have the FD-8, still use it till this day. It saves files in wav. format and i do may transfers through the ADAT out. Sound quality's pretty good considering what it costs... i couldn't believe it myself. I bought mine when it came out and it still holds strong... take care of yours and it'll take care of you.
