please help

Ok here is my problem. I have a MPC 2000 and I am trying to sample vinyl. WhenvI sample there is a loud hiss sound so I can not sample because of this loud hiss sound. what is the problem and how do I correct it ?

have you ground your turntable?

When you are in sample-mode, try to change the input format from stereo to
mono l and mono right and hear, maybe one of your mixer input is crashed.

Check you levels.(rec gain and tt volume)If you're peaking it can cause hiss you want a hot signal but not peaking.

Check your cables also.

i had the same exact problem when i had to record stuff from my turntables to my computer
it wasnt the ground or nothin
try setting up ure equipmnet in another room
and record
trust me
i cant explain why... but when i tried to record in my basement it didnt work
i put my stuff in my room and suddenly it worked
i went back downstairs to try it out.. it didnt work

You do have your turntable going through a DJ mixer and not directly into your MPC, right? If not, you should, phono (turntable) outs need to be amplified before you can hear them properly.
