Tracking To PC question

hi,

I have a mpc 1000 and a audiophile 2496 soundcard.

im planning on buying a new mixer so I can track out my tracks trough the different outs. But I whas thinking that my soundcard only has 1 input so the sound will come into my computer as 1 signal and not as 3 seperate signals.

is this correct?

and what soundcard could you recommend.

Sounds like you'll be tracking one at a time.(if i understood you right)

But with the 1000 can't you use the usb to track into your computer?

Naw.

Damn,that sux.So you can only load samples via the usb on the 1000?
I've never used one so i thought you could track like that.And i wanted a 1000 for that reason but now,fuhgeddaboutit.

with the 1k and the 2.5k the usb is only for data transfer. when connected to your computer, the computer sees the mpc as a mass storage device. that's it.

That sux.For the money you hash out for the 25k it should at least be able to do that.

^^^^your able to record your tracks from the MPC1000 into any recording software, just to get that clear, the usb is just another way of dunping your tracks into the computer. But im not sure about the seperate signals.

I just thought that through the usb, let's say you have 9 tracks in the mpc,you could arm 9 tracks in your software and do more or less like a big sample transfer.Kind of like a Real time record but on multiple tracks.That would be nice if you could because then you wouldn't really need 8 outs.
