Sequencing & Output assigning...Questions/problems

Alright...not to sure what the problem is, hopefully someone can help me out...

I'll create a sequence on the 2000xl and then save it to my zip. Later on when I want to go back to it (after the machine's been turned off) I go to load the sequence...it loads...I go to the main screen...press play to start the sequence but nothing is playing. It recognizes the file but the sequence I created is not there, and if it is I can't hear it. Where did I go wrong?

I dont have this problem when I sample/save/load sounds...so what am I doing wrong here?

ALSO...

I want to incorporate some effects from an sp-303 to some sequences I create...My question is...How do I connect this up so that I can throw some effect from the 303 to the 2000xl?


Im less than 2 weeks new to the 2000xl thats why Im asking such ameture questions. If someone has any clue PLEASE help me out! Thanx alot.

First off i think the problem with your saving seqs. is you're not saving the sounds.Save all aps. and seqs. don't know what mp you have but check the manual on saving.

Now as far as the effects go you can either sample into the 303 and then go into the mpc or sample into the mpc and then go to the 303.If you're using a D.A.W i would suggest the latter.That way you can save all the effects just as you used them there,instead of in the mpc.Plus sampling in the mpc gives you more time and a better workflow.

Thanks alot stryke! I totally appreciate the help! Im gonna try this out tonite and see how it all pans out...hopefully the problem will be solved.

With the 303 though...is there a way in which I can assign it to one of the outputs...and while a sequence is playing on the MPC2000xl I can add the effects of the 303 in real time?

Go from the mpc out to the 303 in.Then from the 303 out connect your headphones/monitors or go into your mixer.(Or however you listen to your tracks)

I don't know anything about the 303 but i'm pretty sure you can add your effects that way.
