Using a Triton Extreme with the MPC 2500....HELP

Hey all,

I'm trying to use the Triton Extreme with my brand new 2500. I want to send MIDI data FROM the Triton, into the MPC's sequencer to record the data, then transmit the data back out of the MPC and back into the Triton so that it plays the correct sound and I can record it.

Every time I press record on the MPC, it is changing the sound I have selected on the Triton. For example, on the Triton, I will select a lead synth called Wide Detuned Lead on Track 1. When I press Record on the MPC, the Wide Detuned Lead sound on Track 1 of the Triton changes to a Grand Piano. WHY IS IT DOING THIS? Am I missing something in the settings that is not allowing me to use MIDI and record this way? I've tried reading the manual, but you have to be a musical genius just to understand what the hell those books are talking about.

Its Called a MIDI DUMP, read up on it in the Manuals.
Midi Dump will make sure all your tracks, settings, effects and what have you have been saved so when you load up the MPC and hit play it will transmit the SAVED data back and load all the instruments and settings that were used on your Extreme.

This is just 1 method of saving data using MIDI, do some searches on MIDI , Program Changes even.

Thanks for the reply, but my question had nothing to do with Saving MIDI. When I would go to play a sequence I had just created, the MPC kept changing the program on the Triton every time I hit Play (IE, changing my sounds automatically back to the default setting instead of the strings I had selected).

But I figured it out. By selecting "Ignore Program Changes" on the Triton, it played my sequence fine.
