Wav Format

I have some wavs on my computer and according to the properties information it says that they are 16 bit yet when i try to load them in th xl, it's the wrong format. What's the problem and is there any type of wav conversion tool? Thanks!

What mpc and how are you trying to load the files?(digital outs/headphone outs)

I have the 2000XL and I use zip disks!

If you format the zips on your p.c. (assuming you have a p.c. zip)just load the sounds to disk from there and walk them over to the mpc.When you format though use Fat16 or Fat and you should be good to go.

What kind of WAV files are they? They need to be saved as PCM WAVs, and (like you seem to know) be 16 bit and 44.1 KHz sample rate.

Whenever you save a samplem on a PC, peep out the available formats, should be a regular WAV and a PCM WAV.

The properties info says they're 16 bit, 44.1KHz and I even used MPC editor thinking that would help but it still says the same thing.

some .wav files recorded with older editors might have some junkinfo embedded in them.
try to load them into Wavelab or any uptodate editor and resave them.
also makesure there is'nt characters like ¤)"¤=)&?!(/)%() in the filename

Embedded "Metadata" can sometimes cause erros when trying to load a wav. Open the file in a wave editor and resave w/o the "Metadata".
