Why no C and D banks?

I don't know if this should be here or in production technigues.But,on the 2k why can't you scroll to th C and D banks?I know there are usually 32 midi notes which would correlate with the first two banks but why can't you use C and D banks even in the drums tracks?(lower left)

Let's say you have a kick on bank/Drum C....pad 6.....but when you're on a Drum track you can't scoll to bank C and label it Kick.It's not a big deal,i just like to know exactly where everything is.

what do you mean scroll to the c and d banks? like you cant get to the sounds on banks c and d?

In the lower left where you switch from midi to drum.
I know it allows you to use A and B which correlates to midi but you can't scroll to C and D.

well the 2k only allows A/B. nothing more.

From what I understand, the 2kxl (maybe?) lets you choose more. But the 2k only has a or b.

question...what is that function for? i always saw it where you can choose a or b for DRUM, but why would you use that for DRUM. I use all the time for MIDI...

Isn't that what Program you're on, not bank?

On the XL, it's DRUM1-DRUM4 and that applies to the 4 programs you can use. But then again, if the 2000 only lets you use one program, then I don't know what it would be for on that machine.

you got the midi phunked up, you got it twisted.
banks have nothing to do with it.

You get 16 midi for midi A and 16 for midi B. Those are your midi plugs in back of your machine, have nothing to do with banks. Your midi track type numbers are limited ONLY by your 2 midi pulgs in the back.. You are SCROLLING through your midi ports in the back of your machine, NOT the a-b-c-d banks on the front - panel. Get it?

It's not a big deal or nothing but i just wanted to know why you couldn't scroll through to C or D.I see what you guys mean.I don't use midi that much(yeah,yeah i know Mpc)but i just prefer actual audio as opposed to midi data.

Like the other dude said, the MIDI 1A, 1B, etc has nothing to do with banks. Those are your MIDI outs, that correspond to the the outs on the back of the machine.
