What happens is I turn the MPC(2000XL) on, then turn the synth on and wait for them both to start up. After loading a .ALL and .APS file, when I hit the keys on the synth, it plays it's own program/sounds and also triggers the sounds loaded in the MPC. (At this stage the MPC plays sequences as normal.)
But, as soon as I select another program to play on the keyboard (eg. scroll to the next preset program with the data wheel), no audio comes through the master outs when I play a sequence on the MPC... The sequence plays, but I can't hear it, and I can't hear any of the individual sounds/samples when I hit the pads while in the Main Screen. But when I press a pad while in Trim mode, I can hear whatever sound is on the display through the stereo outs as normal.
I can record midi events from the keyboard into a track on the MPC, and that track plays back (from the MPC) fine, but still, no audio is coming out of the Akai. (ie. The tracks I recorded previously cannot be heard.) Its like something has happened between the keyboard and MPC that has muted all of the MPC’s sounds.
I played around last night checking that it wasn’t anything simple like having the wrong drum program selected for the tracks on the MPC, but I think it’s a setting somewhere that I haven’t found. But I could be wrong and have overlooked something simple.
I haven’t had time to be on the forum today and search, so I wrote this quickly inbetween work, just hoping I can get it sorted out, with some help from whoever can, as soon as possible.
