as a newbie i know the situation you are in and am willing to help you. granted i havent actually worked with any of the machines, but have been reading these boards A LOT and from what i have read the mpc60 and 3000 supposedly have that old gritty sound while the 2000 and 2000xl ive read are really good to work with. the mpc1000 is good because of itsa usb and computer connectability. BUt in all honesty this question has been brought up a billion times and the one answer that is most frequent is that its not the machine that gives you the sound you are looking for but the person using the machine gives it the sound. ohh and by the way this will be locked by lampdog by the end of the day. you the shit lampdog keep doing your ish!!!
