which mpc?

hi people,
iv been makin beats on my pc for 3 years now using reason, cubase, recycle and wavelab.
im gonna get an mpc soon as im just getting bored of using a mouse and thee mpc's just look so cool! ... im not sure if i should get the 1000, or a 200xl. .. does the 1000 do basicaly all that the 2000 does?.. or is it a bit wak?
any advice would be great as i know nothing about using hardware to ake beats.

I just copped a 2500 from Digital Village Birmingham for £790, wouldn't look back now. It'll be the heart of my studio for years to come.

Thats no true. THere are very few features that the 2000xl has that the MPC1k doesnt yet the 1k can have up to a 100gig harddrive can have 4x more ram, is faster and has usb transfer. Like the posts above said look around and do your homework, you should have this for a looooonnng time.

thanx people, does the mpc 1000 come with a set of drum kits?.. or do i have to sample every hit i wanna use?

p.s. spirez, im from essex, and i dontbuy anything from digital vilage, they messed me around a few times, the london stores are wak.

yeah there are a few kits in there already. the sampes from this site are pretty good too, i just bought the producer set 1 & 2 and the MPC guitar set

safe pirez, i really aint got a clue about how to build beats on an mpc, im pretty sure its gonna take a while to learn after using software for so long.
i think i made my mind up already, will prob get a 1000, but that 2500 looks so sick!

Ph0cus, dont fret about learning the mpc. i was in the same boat as you, and believe it or not, the "playlist" feature on fruityloops of all things reminds me of sequencing in an mpc. youll get it, read the manual, and SEARCH this site. Cheers
