connecting PC to mpc 1000

Hello I got my mpc 1K today
I have plugged the mpc into the pc via usb today but not a great deal is happening. do I need to d/load any drivers? I am using windows 2000 is that compatible?

You can hit either Mode + Load or Mode + Save. On the LCD screen you will see a USB option go ahead and hit the F4 key (can't recall off hand).

Why is there a USB interface, then?
The USB connectivity starts to make sense when you learn that there is space for a 2.5-inch hard disk drive inside the MPC1000. You use the USB interface to do mass dumps to and backups from the internal disk. It will look like any external USB HDD to the PC / Mac.


i mean u prolly know this but jus incase u didnt or a newb was readin this.
