Questions about sampling/chopping on an MPC

I want to get an MPC. I am from the software world but want to switch. I was watching a tutorial on chopping in an MPC and it looked very time consuming. What's it really like chopping in an MPC (1000 or 2000XL). Are there advantages to chopping in an MPC as opposed to in a wave editor like Soundforge? I'm just kinda worried chopping in an MPC will be a real big hassle. Can someone clear the air on this?

i think it all depends on what you're accustomed to. kats who feel at home on software probably think chopping on hard is time consuming and annoying. kats on hard think the same about software setups. this is what MANY think....not all. so...you do what you're accustomed to. good music is good music. most people here will tell you it don't matter what you use but rather how you use it. i think hardware is easier....then again...i'm a hardware kat....MPC!!!!! been that way for a while.

Well, I chop in the mpc and it stays in the mpc, Meaning not having to transfer files from pc to mpc. Yes, I'm a hardware kat also. Hard as steel and still gettin harder.
