NEED HELP UPGRADING MY MPC1000/2.10 UPGRADE

PLEASE, PLEASE, HELP, HELP! I tried to update to the os version 2.10 but having trouble for hours. I did just like what it says to do at akai's website to upgrade and I just can't get it. Do I need to do something to the card like format it and if so, how do I do that? When the card is in the mpc, it sees the 2.10 file but I just don't get it. I have the memory card in and push window down and turn the power on like the website says. It says that a correct os file wasn't found. PLEASE, PLEASE, HELP, HELP!
