I finally got enuf money to get an mpc 1k and an alesis ion synth ( after many years of wishing,wanting, and saving to get some equipment) and i was wondering after im done with a beat and i got a couple beats i wanna burn to a cd to let my homies hear it as well as shop em(sooner or later) but i know the 1k dont have an option for a cd-r, but the salesman at GC sed that i could get an external cd-r and connect it to the 1k via the 1k's digital out to the cd-r's dig in. is this correct??? and if this is how i go about it will the synth parts also record??? if what the salesman told me is wrong do i have to get a mixer thats digital in compatible or can i keep using the 2 two channel mixers im using that have no digital out/in's???? cuz my pockets aint lined like that gettin what i got was hard enuff 4 my poor puerto rican a$$....Pleas let me know what you guys can tell me .... i come in search of help...from the masters.......Thanx G.Ventura aka rogalinn-------- :?

I will respond, but know that I can't give you a lot of information because I don't know if this is even for sure. I am a Newbie myself.

If I understand correctly, you can somehow transfer your beats to your computer into wav. files with your usb cable and then convert them into mp3. I don't think you need to buy a cd burner and all that stuff.

However, I think to do what you want to do, you will need to download some type of program on to your cp.

Somebody that knows a lot more help him out with this.

The only way u can transfer those beats are if u resample. You CAN NOT connect a USB cable and transfer your beats from the mpc to the computer its not that easy. What you can do is get you a decent sound card and take the outs of the MPC 1k to the INS on your sound card. This question has already been answered.
