ASR vs. Motif

So I'm thinking about buying a keyboard ( I already have a Roand D-20 but that just works like shit with my mpc2000XL)
I have the option to buy a ASR or a Motif 6 (for the same price about 800)

Can you guys give me some pointers on what to choose?

the asr is more of a sampling keyboard and the Motif is one of the best sounding romplers. I have a ASR and I use it mainly for sampleing, I don't like loading up patches unless I know which ones I want. 2 completely different machines

Like bhunt said they are totally two different machines and really shouldnt be compared with each other. If you are wanting more sounds then i say go with the Motif but if you are a hard timer sampler i mean u sample like 90 percent of your work then i say go wit the ASR but in the end its totally up to you.

How is the ASR compared to the 2KXL sampling wise...

the ASR is the truth when it comes to its sampler, but its a pain to use at times. The more you work it the easier it becomes, the effects are ill and you can do some unique things with the samples.

no comparison, I love my 2kxl to death, but it can't touch the ASR10's sampling featues.

2kxl is not a full featured sampler, ASR10 is.

but he already has a sampler Do you need more sampling power or more sounds? If you need more sampling power, ASR10, If you need more sounds, Mtofi ES.
