recording 2 different synth sounds to 2 different mpc seq tr

how do i make a sequence on the mpc in this way---4 tracks in a sequence- 2 tracks of sounds from the mpc's internal soundmod. and 2 tracks of sounds from my synth(alesis micron kbd)? i thinjk all my midi settings are correct on both pieces, but heres what happens. i'll lay down a track of a chopped sample(i.e. funky drummer-james brown), a track of cymbals and a snare (both of these tracks from the mpc's sounds)------ and then my 2 synth tracks made up of 2 seperate sounds---1 a bass sound and then the next track made up of a clavinet sound after recording this track(the clavinet) i go to play back my seq and the bass track is now a differnt sound then originally recorde(i didnt notice at first cuz i usually record some sounds(just depends on what they are) in solo mode---so i tried this again this time without the solo function on and as soon as i switch the sounds on my synth and press record and play the seq plays back and i notice it happens again(i didnt think it'd matter if i solo'd the track or not im just sayin i tried it both ways and to no avail my synth sounds change-----is this not possible to do 2 tracks from my synth(into the mpc1000) made up of two different synth sounds or is it possible and im just not doin something right??? Please any1 help---sorry so long but im goin nutts.this is settin me back cuz im wastin time tryin ta fig this out instead of makin beats---but iwhen i try to make a seq with two diff tracks of 2 sep synth sounds it f@#ks me all up. akai mpc1000,alesis micron kbd-synth,numark tt,numark bluedog 2ch mixer(as my sampling mixer---tt,cass,cd/dvd to mixer ins mixer out to mpc's rec in) and a pioneer djmixer(2 chan) as my master out mixer. madddddd vinyl,cassettes,and cd's and the love of the music not the MONEY or FAME---

On pm's your asking for my personal time, then when I see the same ? out in public on the forum, I take that as you shyting on my personal time and I don't appreciate that. Maybe you are that hard up for help and are not patient enough to wait for someone to answer/reply. I don't know.

When that happens to me I just delete the pm.

I think the micron is 'multitimbral'

if it is, then u can do what u want... if not, then no...

but u need to read the manual and figure out how to setup the micron for multitimbral mode


in that mode, the micron will assign different sounds to different midi channels... u have to match those channels with the channels u select on the mpc.

that should at least help u know what to ask next.

another point:: in the long run , you want to sample the audio from the micron into the mpc anyway.. so the whole track is contained in the mpc.

(or record it into a computer instead)

Try selecting your Micron sounds from the MPC using part and prog change settings....No need to sample the sounds....let the sequencer play them. You are on the right track - just keep experimenting....

Yo, FADER-PRO i appreciate your help.. im still not gettin it to do what i want...so when im ready to start the second synth track--do i change the MIDI(on mpc main window to 2A) and then the microns midi channel to 2, 3a-3,4a-4,etc,etc???????? Thanx.Gino Ventura

yes the micron is 32-parts multitimbral. i got the connections right i think where my problem is is in the settings and me not knowing how to set them. example i do 2 synth tracks to the mpc i do the 1t track with a piano sound then i go to record the saecond track and i want to use the synths 909 sounds as soon as i hit play/rec the 1st synth track that was made up of the piano sound is now a 909 sound??????????? I know what im trying to do(use diff synth sounds for diff tracks on the mpc) is possible. I just need some help.I Greatly appreciate all help and suggestions........

because that might be relevant..

on the mpc side: in the main window, each track that will control the micron needs to have the MIDI CH field set to something different (like 1A for drumsound, 2A for strings etc etc.)

on the micron: you need to go into the micron and make the same selections like CH1, CH2 etc. That's the key !! !!! i can't be more specific to how...
what does the micron manual say about assigning voices to midi channels in multitimbral mode?

id spell it out for you more if i could but i only owned a micron for 3 days and returned it
