Gosh I never knew how noisey record players can be!
my set up is a gemini cheap-o tt1 turntable with original cart, a vestax mixer and the 2000xl, I think it may be the cartridge so got a ORTOFON Concorde PRO S, and I am hoping that will solve it, I have played about with the gains and stuff on the vestax, and changed leads about but it is buzzing it aint really lould but its not acceptable for what i need, have you experienced a like case scenario? what did you do?
I cant afford a 1210 b4 anyone says!

is it grounded?

yeah its got a cable that runs from the turntable to the mixer.

Is the grounding cable touching bare metal on both sides of the cable?

Is the turntable sitting on top of a speaker?

Is a speaker close to the turntable and point direcly at it (like close range)?

i used to own a Tr 606 and that was well noisey! i ended up unscrewing it and putting a wire underneath the screw on the 606 and the other end under a screw on my sound desk...

sorted it, the cable that came with the deck was shockingly bad, got a new phono lead on it and it is all good now
