Ive got a set of TR8 active speakers and a set of pro headphones, the tr8's are known for bass expansion in the sound however the headphones I have are the b/dynamic ones in most pro set ups, not the black and white but the black ones with better bass responce. however ive been samplaing using the tr8 speakers and getting a groove on nice and tight, when i come to mixin on the phones the sounds are full of glitches that cant be detected on the large moniters? which one do i trust?

well on the event tr8's the particular bd sounded fat, but on the head phones it sounded quite tinny, and it had elements of scratchy sound to it. just sounded really dull and lifeless on the phones but fat and bouncy on the moniters.
also because I samped it, i was hearing the start of the snare at the end of the bd so i chopped a bit off, then it sounded too short with no sustain

do you have the speakers next to a wall or in corners? that can enhance bass frequencies, throwing your mix off.

oh, well in that case it should be ok. bass can be a problem with headphones, are you sure they're not broken?
