What is the advantage of having "8 outs"?

im new to this. everytime i see posts comparing the 1000 to other mpc's i.e. the 2500, people are quick to point out the "8 outs" as a huge plus. why is this? please help the technically challenged and let me know what the 8 outs are all about

The more outs the less takes u have to take when tracking out. If u have the 8 outs plus the stereo u have a total of 10 outs. So when u go to track out your kick, snare, hi hat,ect. u can send 10 sounds from the MPC at one time. Then go back and do 10 more where as if u dont have the 8 outs u will only be able to track two sounds at a time so u would have to do that 5 times just to get 10 sounds out.

But if u dont plan on tracking out then having the 8 outs isnt an advantage to you.

But you know, real pro's do not use 8 outs for tracking. They track 2 and 2 tracks, because they track through expensive preamps and compressors before the sound hits Pro Tools.

But if you're planning on using an analog mixer to mix your beats (which can be really good if you're good at mixing), you'll need the 8 outs.

more outs can be good for playing live...

route each out to a channel on a mixing board, then you have all the faders at once available to adjust vol/pan/eq/fx on each channel.
