do you really need a keyboard

oh yea another question...mah bad im new to this shit just like errbody else...

but i already got an mpc 1000 and i was wonderin if u really need a keyboard...

i know some keyboards hold a certain amount of instruments...so how do u find all the other sounds that your keyboard aint have feel me....

can u download songs/samples onto ur mpc and have ur keyboard play 100 pitches of that sound/sample? if thats the case...then a cheapass keyboard iss really all u need

if yall know what im talkin about get at me.

You dont need a keyboard, but it helps.

my keyboard retails at about $70 and it does everything I need. It plays the different pitches of whatever sound I want and changes the tempo. I'm straight with my little cheap keyboard

keyboards are best for playing key/piano parts

its too fiddly with just the mpc pads

and i think for 70 youll be getting a keyboard controller (?) so the keyboard itself wont have any sounds in it. it will only be used to play the sounds in the mpc

Um not fully correct u can get keyboards that price with sounds but they may not be that great. Also if u like Ebay u can get lucky sometimes and find some nice lil keyboards for da low.

To my knowledge, a cheap board ain't goin' play 100 pitches of a sound if the board can't sample.
And a cheapass keyboard is goin' limit your creativity anyway.

I got all my boards on EBAY: Roland Phantom S W/case=$800; Korg MS2000B w/case=$250;E-MU MK-6=$200. I think the Roland was a damn good deal. It samples, video, etc.

You just gotta' get lucky for right board, right price, right time.\

BTW, doesn't 1000 play the sounds at different picthes???

He could use Multisamples. Make that autochromatic work man.

my 1000, then play the chopped samples with the keyboard (hoping the

keyboard can automatically play the sample at different tunes...

there should be a keyboard that does that because the mpc can convert a

sample into 16 tunes...

question 2: i know mpc 1000 cant record mp3s so what converter do i need to turn mp3s into wavs or whatever i need to get the mpc to play mp3s...
