Using the Proteus 2000

I got a proteus and know how to operate it but!! i don't feel like i'm in full control when I program the drums. when I use choped drums that i sample i got swing control, Pad asighnment and a host of other features, I just feel like I can't manuver the drums off the proteus like I do with drums I load into my 2000xl, like i can't utilize any of the tricks that i've learned with this module. Am I missing something?? I hate having to go thru a whole pad bank trying to isolate a sound I used when i want to go back and edit something. Any suggestions??
