hey, im new to the MPC's, i just want to learn a few things from you.

first of all, i have the 2000... but i think i might get the 2500, which is better...? 2000(or 2000XL) or 2500?

so... can you hook the MPC up to a PC so you can view whatever your doing on the mpc on the PC screen?

if so, how? what do i need to do it? which programs?

what does pro tools do? and can someone specify what it actually is?

and is there anything vital i need to know? anything you can tell me to get me started?

thanks in advance.

Dan.

First of all learn the MPC 2000 inside out b4 u think of replacing it, ithe 2500 snt necicarily better, many of teh top producers are using the 2000. The 2500 will let you conect through usb wich will only let you dump sounds from your comp into the MPC or the othere way around, it really just eliminates having to use floppy discs and the likes, it wont let you see what you doing on you PC and it wont let you record your beats to the comp. Pro tools will allow you to record your beats to the comp if you have a sound card and audio cables out of the MPC into the Comp and then you can edit from there, look into other options like cubase and read up on the differences but i seriously wouldnt consider bying a new MPC if you dont know much about the first one.

thanks for replying, and i already know alot about the first one, its just its only half mine, and half a friends, so he'll have that one and ill buy the 2500, thats the whole reason for getting a new MPC, not really replacing.

thanks for the help.
