Midi and Logic pro 7 on mac...help!

Hi, I've searched for a decent tutorial and had no luck, apologies if this has been asked before...

I'm trying to connect my mpc1000 via an m-audio project mix desk to my g4 mac using midi...had my mpc for a couple of yrs now but never used midi so i was wandering if anyone knows a good tutorial on how to get things talking to eachother. The logic manual doesnt make it very easy.
