this is the same question as the other topic but hopefully this will get more replies...

question(s) 1: so which keyboard can play samples? and what is multismaple nicole??

i want to download mp3s on my computer, chop them into samples with

my 1000, then play the chopped samples with the keyboard (hoping the

keyboard can automatically play the sample at different tunes...

there should be a keyboard that does that because the mpc can convert a

sample into 16 tunes...

question 2: i know mpc 1000 cant record mp3s so what converter do i need to turn mp3s into wavs or whatever i need to get the mpc to play mp3s...

ASR-10

"Multisamples involve sampling many notes from an instrument and mapping out these notes into MPC programs. We then use tuning to make up for the missing notes (this helps keep program size respectable) and the result is a very realistic recreation of the original instrument mapped out across the pads in your MPC - they can also be played with a MIDI keyboard attached to the back of your MPC."(mpc-samples)

Well i thought u meant like an actual keyboard that did it. NE keyboard with MIDI will work if you have autochromatic programs(multisamples) loaded up in your MPC.

dayam im so sorry nicole for being so dayam ignorant about all this technical shit...im doin my research too do sont think im lazy though...

but anyway... wtf are autochromatic programs(multisamples)...i know samples are pieces or portions of other songs and all

but youre saying i can download mp3s...convert them to wav files...record

the wav files into the mpc...and then the MIDI keyboard can play those

samples from the mpc at different tunes right?

u read my mind.

when u save a song as mp3 u loose a lot of quality.
but than again this is the mp3 generation. everybody has an mp3 player.
not a lot of ppl care about quality anymore, myself included, but i dont sample from mp3 nomore.

I gave u a definition on multisampling. But as stated above why are u so stuck on the mp3's. Turnin a mp3 to . wav is like tryin to turn a beat up car into a new looking car. Its easier to start with a new car and turn it into a beat up car with that said either sample via the RECORD IN or get .wavs. Also check out www.mpc-samples.com and Tutor sells multisample programs and gives you all the information needed to understand what they do and how they work.
