I want that same pattern on Track 3, but using a diffrent sound...how would I go about copying and pasting it, but assigning it to a diffrent pad?

are you serious?

try exploring what lies beneath the "window" button.

oh, and you dont assign tracks to pads. you assign them to "parts" which are basically the "programs" within a multi. You with me?

so if you want track 3 to play a different sound from track 2, load the program with the sound you want, assign it to a "part" using the "multi" button. then assign that "part" to track 3.

^^^ I kno that...

You dont undestand my question...

For example:

my hat pattern is on track 2...I want the same pattern to be played in Track 3 only with a diffrent sound.

Track 2 = Hat

Track 3 = Shaker with same pattern/notes as track 2

how would i get the same notes on track 3? Without having to play it over

copy track + transpose.

judging by the answer i gave you, i did understand your question. it was you who didn't....

so im guessing now that you want track 3 to use a different sound (shaker) from the same program. why didn't you say that?

if its a keygroup program try transposing the notes so that the shaker plays instead ofthe hats.

more likely its a drum program, so use sequence edit or step edit to change the pad that plays from the hats to the shaker.

good luck...

You need to KNOW your gear, know it's functions and features
so that you maybe be able to combine features, options and functions to get what you want.

KNOW your gear.
