the first paragraph is just my introduction to you guys since this is my first post, you can skip it if you want.
alright so here's the deal, i'm new to the mpc game and will definatly be visiting this forum on the reg from now on.any help is greatly apprieciated and thanks for your time if you are reading this.....i just bought a mpc2000xl in great condition inside and out with a zip drive for 400 dollars canadian (couldnt pass it up)...i was always facinated by mpc's but never really had much knowledge of them, or the spare cash to get one...the craft i originally chose to invest my time/money in was dj'ing , been doin that for about 5 years now...i've also experimented with programs like fruity loops and then after a while with reason...never got too heavy into those but i know whats up. i'm just not really into pointing and clicking a mouse to make music , and computers give me a headache sometimes... know what i mean? moving on.... back to the mpc...i've studied it a bit and have a pretty good understanding of how it works now...
i have a method that i think will work but just in case...
WHAT I NEED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT IS......getting the beats from my mpc to my computer? what cables should i get and where should i plug them... what software should i use to record? i'm on a budget here too so keep that in mind.... i have a mixer which looks like it could help, i think my soundcard at home might be a problem though...so if there are any cheap ones that are good or if there are ways around having a shitty one, hook me up! ...... also some methods you guys use once you start recording could be helpfull...by the way i have windows ME right now but i think i will be upgrading to xp pretty soon....i have sound forge and cool edit and will be installing cubase in the next few days... (the mpc is all stock, none of the extra input/ouput's etc...) thanks,peace.
