Hey Guys, I'm just starting out, and I need help setting up my small studio. The equipment I have is an MPC 1000, protools m box2, Reason software, usb condenser mic, and m-audio 25 key midi controller, which I will be upgrading soon. I don't have the monitors yet, thats my next project to get. The computer I have is a hp laptop. The questions I have are, How can I set all this equipment up, so that I can have a easy studio flow; and that I can use my MPC 1000 with pro tools and reason?

midi out of the m-box to midi in on the mpc 1000

audio out from the mpc 1000 to audio in of the m-box

boot up protools first. set it up the send midi clock

set the mpc 1000 to receive midi clock

then boot up reason, it should slave to reason automatically over rewire (i think, never tried it)

when you have audio in reason you want to record in to pro tools open up some rewire channels to do so

plug your mic and midi contoller in to the usb ports, select them within the software preferences..

Have you even given your manual a shot at helping you setup the gear you bought?

you need a midi input (which you dont have)

get yourself a midi/audio interface

where you at in Alaska?

i used to kick it up there. That check y'all get from the government every year would be real nice for some gear upgrades.
