dilemma

a friend of mine works at guitar center and probly for the last 8 months or so has known that im gettin the 2500(this weekend), he has been cool about it and w/e up until a week ago when he started rantin about the mv-8000 and how it offers so much more than the mpc, etc. he said that he has gotten chummy with a roland rep and can get me the mv at about the same cost as the 2500, now we all know about the extras you gotta buy when u get the 2500 and the extra stuff that comes in the mv and how much u can sample blah blah blah, and idk i mean i can see where hes comin from(which by the way he wont shut the hell up about it), but its like iv worked with mpc's before 2kxl and 2500 and i sumwhat feel a connection(lol) with the mpc, and as much as im excited to get it, if i got the mv i would feel like why did i just do that...its like i dont care what the mv has the mpc has been around for years and i think that if i wanna make beats it shouldnt be with anythin but that...idk i guess im just venting but i want to kno how u guys feel..thanks, peace

there both great machines. tough choice there man. I would have a hell of a time deciding that. And because I havnt really **** with the mv I cant say what one is better. Do your research, spending that kind of loot you should really spend alot of time reading reviews,specs,manuals everything you can. It took me 2 months to decide between the 1k and xl. try to goto music shops and play with them as much as possible. try reading on forums about the probs each machine has and what outweighs the other. good luck.. either way your a lucky ****

well hes not a friend that i kno from goin there, he is a friend who happens to work there, i mean he wanted me to get the 2500 till he started readin bout the mv and stuff so i guess if he was out to cheat me he would still say get this or that regardless...but anyway he just called me and told me sum guy bought one but brought it back and bought the 4000 instead so im gettin the open box discount on 2500 (my boy said its still mint), so now im lookin at 1600 for the price instead of 1999 which means that its gonna be cheaper than the mv anyway, i was most likely gonna go with the mpc due tot he fact that i have worked with it a lil and beacuse no one around where i live has an mv to mess around on...but thanks for the help liquidmass its just hard to make decisions like these sumtimes when a lot of money is involved and plus im not doin this as a hobby so its like i just wanna make sure im gonna be gettin sumthin good that will last me a long time
