quick question

i just brought a gemini turntable for my mpc 1000..i have a eurorack ubb2 mixer


im sending the turntable to the euro mixer, and the mixer to the mpc 1000
but i keep hearing this hissing sounds in my samples....
how do i solve this....
i was told that i need a real dj mixers,but i was also told that i didn't..

You cannot sample directly by plugging your turntable into the MPC outs - a phono
signal is not strong enough and will sound puny and quiet when plugged in directly
to your MPC. The signal needs to be amplified to line level using either a DJ mixer or
a dedicated RIAA pre-amp.

He doest not have his turntable directly connected to the mpc he said he has it going to a mixer then from the mixer to his mpc. Check your cables that could be causing hissing.

without a phono preamp, the output level from the turntable will be low. are you finding that you need to increase the level of the channel on your mixer for your turntable? if so, that may be causing the hissing sound if you're letting the samples get clipped. or it could simply be the cables. keep in mind that if your mixer does not have a phono preamp and i am pretty sure it doesn't, you'll either want to switch to a dj mixer or get a riaa phono preamp.

yea you should probably replace the euro mixer with a Dj mixer.

the problem is definitely the Phono on the table no being gounded.
