BEWARE : BIG POST

Got a drum machine, multitrack recorder, stereo (with RCA's),computer with line in,line out,and microphone inputs, karaoke machine with RCA's.I plan to get a synthesizer (micron) in a few months.Since I dont a have a synth I dont feel my beats are NOT complete, because now they just consist of drum and bass.So I'm missing melodies. So when I get that micron,I'll look into selling beats to locals. So if a rapper wants to buy a beat what should I do ?Sequence it and burn it to a cd ?I'm kid in school,so I cant hang around in a studio helping out with the beat I made.I figured I could give the beat to the engineer at the studio the rapper will be working at,and then I'm done on my part.I just dont know in what format ?I could put it on a wav file,cd,mp3 file,etc.. I heard I would have to give it in a ''tracked'' format.I also dont get how you burn a mp3 file or wav file ?So would I need a mixer for tracking ?Really I just need to know how would I give them the beat ??? ??? Oh yeah what I do if they're not werkin wit computers /

First off, you sound a long way from actually sellin your beats especially if your making beats "with no melodies". You are really wasting your time, because you really need to be crafting your beats around your melodies, and vice versa. In the long run, its pretty simple, you gotta have good beats first, then record the beats with a "tag" in them (some voiceover or something) that will keep people from using them, and give them out to people. If they feel the beats, they may throw you an offer for a tag free beat.

Honestly tho man, you shouldnt even be thinking bout sellin your beats yet, your not even puttin melodies in them

You shouldnt be thinkin dollar signs while your producing , especially when your just gettin started

Alright I can respect that, its just the money of gear nowadays is expensive and I really want a micron (synth).Thanx for proving me right,I thought all beats needed some kind of melody.
