Playing live - repeating part of the song, how to do???

Hi there,
we are playing here around the costa blanca in spain, bass and drums are coming from the machine, sax , guitar and voices are live. Up to now I just recorded the drums and the bass, put it on a Mini Disc and thats it.
But playing more often now and becoming known, it would be nice to be able to adjust the length of a song to the taste of the audience. So my idea would be, to kind of sample the bass and drum, put it on the MPC and now comes the question. Are there possibilities to loop/repeat parts of a song? Keep in mind that I´m playing the sax meanwhile, so it would be nice to give the repeat signal from a foot pedal. Take as an example a simple 12 bar blues. You have an intro, the 12 bars cycle and the end. How could I manage to repeat the cycle as long as the audience wants?
Any suggestions or ideas are very welcome.

Well,
I mailed the same question some akai distributors in germany and switzerland, so to sum it up, the answer is NO, it is not possible to repeat a sequence by using the pedal. Over the global menu you can choose different pedal options, but you can´t create own ones.
The only possibility they suggested was the next sequence option in the main window, which is not too helpful in my case.
Its a bit strange because I can´t get rid of that feeling that there certainly is a way to do it, just a different aproach, but maybe I´m wrong.

next sequence function sounds exactly to be what you need...
first sequence: intro -> footpedal next sequence: main loop. now you can loop this as long as you want, then maybe switch to third sequence, little variation of the main loop so it doesn´t get boring. then switch to end sequence. finsh, applause, audience freaking out...
you can set your footpedal to perform any of the f1 to f6 functions showing on the screen no matter what screen you are in.

but to be honest I don´t know how to put the next sequence function on the pedal

Well, but on the main screen it doesn´t help you to come to the next sequence by the pedal either, or?

sorry, my bad, you can set the footswitch to a lot of different settings, but unfortunately not to next sequence. we must request this function into the next os update from akai. also the should include the selection of any data value + and - with a footswitch, because in many cases this would be more useful than the f1 to f6 buttons.

I do agree completely

...any further idea how to solve the playing live problem???

convert your sequences to tracks for live use, then put the intro on track 1, the main part on track 2 and the outro on track 3. set sequence to loop, set track 1 to solo. you can switch tracks with a footswitch from the main screen. then track 2 automatically becomes soloed. maybe you must make your intro and outro also 12 bars long but play only the first four bars, then switch to main...
this might be the best workaround for now. since you are busy playing you certainly don´t want to edit your sequences on the fly, so there is no need for more than one track for each part...
