Sampling

A newbie question. Whenever I sample, I have to unplug my a/v cords on my 1K from stereo out to record in. When I do, I can't I have no sound on the MPC until I re-plug them into the stereo out again. Is there a way to sample, without this hassle, and so I can also listen to my beat playing while I sample? Do I need more cables, MIDI? Thanks

you need more audio cables.
