High Hat Note Repeat

High Hat Note Repeat

To get a high hat patter like the one in the Heatmaker's vid (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gClXAV3THc), do you use 1/8-3 to do this? And then do you typically record bass kicks and snares in 1/8-3 as well? I'm only saying this cause if I lay down high hats with 18/-3 and the add bass kicks with no quanitize, it the kicks sound off

When you turn off quantize and you record, the mpc is recording exactly when and where you bang the pad, if it sounds off it's because you hit it there and in that spot. If you need help with timing then turn the quantize on for that track.

Quantize off is urged by mostly everybody who has a good gripe on their own inner timing, but, not everyone can get donw like that. It takes practice and creativity "to get your own groove". Some people are born with it, some are not, some work hard to get and get it good, some never will no matter how hard they try.

in that vid, did most likely use quanitize or not?

I don't like youtube so I didn't check it.
I don't care for beatmakin and showoff vids so I didn't check it, sorry.
