MPC 4000 - SYNC PLAYBACK PROBLEM

My production gear consist of an MPC 4000 and a MOTIF ES 6. I recently notice after composing a beat of 4 or more tracks, sometimes my playback struggles to playback the beat and studders to do so. It may be a sync problem but I'm not sure. Does anyone know how or what I can do to troubleshoot the problem or know a solution to correct the quality of playback.

I got the same problem with my motif es rack and my old Mpc 1000. You must change the midi file type ( change it to "0" ) in the Mpc 4000.
You can change it in the save mode window when you are saving your sequence.

Question...does this involve just the gear you're mentioning or is there a computer linked to this setup also?

I appreciate the response, the problem in which I've describe has no computer connected at the time of problem.

You change the midi to "0". In the save mode. What does the midi "0" stand for?

the midi standard have two format : type 0 and type 1. this is almost the same. but

type 0 is a single track with all midi data without regards to his midi channel reference..

type1 is multi-track with all midi data and can be use on every sequencer ( well most of them except akai :p)
