Need Help With A Set Up

I jus feel onto this site, and thank god i did. Im a DJ, who like most of you is ready to make his own music...So basically i need to know whut is a good way to set up my gear...

First of all, whut is the difference between the MPC 2000XL and 2000MCD?

The Purpose to buy the MPC 2000? is to create my own beats for mixtapes, and to use as a sampler for drops on the cd.

Equipment I already own

2 Technics 1200s
1 3channel mixer
1 CDJ 1000mkIII
1 BR-900CD (multi-track recorder)

I have a keyboard siting downstairs, and i own a Laptop...what other equipment will i need to intergrate the MPC 2000XL/MCD

I can get a good deal on a Mackie CFX16 pro mixing board, should I get it, or is it not necessary?

Remember this is just to make mixtapes, is this enuff? too much? can anyone give me an idea on whut i need to hook up with what...

The only difference is the MCD has a Multi-Card-Reader instead of the outdated floppy drive. So if it's your first MPC, get the MCD version.

You're good to go with what you have already. Hook the MPC up with some decent audio cabling and bang away.
