Im looking to get the mbox 2, i was originally planning on purchasing the 450 dollar one without the joemeek compressor and equalizer and cosmonaught voice thing but the dousche bag at guitar center started getting seductive with the 550 dollar bundle details. It includes an ilok as well and i was in fact planning to be using th eprograms on a friends computer.. does anybody have any advice as far as how necessary or useful the extra programs would be?

Pardon the newbination.. put u are all i could trust.

the bundle is alright but it's still not the best plug in's iv'e used joemeek hardware compressors and eq's and the color the sound alot the software plugin capture this a little but not really the bundle comes with sum good plug ins that u will probly use alot but on the other hand it'll come with shit u wont use it kinda depends on the sound u like and what u plan on doing if u dont have any waves plug ins or cracked ones and u want to get ur hands dirty mixing then id sasy go ahead with the bundle because it'll come with enough variety of diffrent processors u can play with to help u learn what certian changes sound like and may help u out when u move up to higher end plug ins

Pay only for the hardware you need..
There is more software out there than you need (to pay for)..
