I have an mpc2500 as well as a axiom midi cotroller (small one) and I am running it to a emu 1212m installed in my PC....and I am using Reason/Vst's as my sound modules...

Ok so everything is ran ok and seems to be working ok, my mpc can play the same sounds as my axiom, but heres my prob...

Say i created a simple drum pattern on the mpc but i want to turn to reason for some instruments or to add some nice bass to my pattern....Well I start on a new track, load a patch for some bass's play it in and boom everythings good....But then as soon as I go to add another track and load a different patch in reason, then my already recorded bass changes to the sounds of the new patch...its driving me nuts, why???

What exactly am I doing wrong....Basically Im trying to have for example....

track 1- DRUM
track 2- SNARE
track 3- HI HAT
track 4- BASS (from reason)
track 5 and on (instruments/melodies from reason)

but I cant get passed track 4 because it changes when I change the patch in reason even If i already recorded it in my mpc.....Im stuck here any help would be greatly appreciated....wether it be words of advice, links, tutorials anything to help me get a better grasp would be great....

i may be wrong because i dont know alot about midi, but i think you have to change the midi channel on both your mpc and in reason...

if you are using midi channel 1a on your mpc and midi channel 1 in reason for your bass, you have to choose a different midi channel (mpc 2a and reason 2) if you wanna use a different patch.

again, i might not know what im talking about because i really dont know much about midi..

^^^ you might not know alot .. but what you said here is dead on emfinite
in reason .. on the sequencer be sure you turn the midi trigger off on the tracks (that little keyboard iocn that lets you know if the track is armed..)
remeber you useing the MPC to sequencew not reason .. thtas why your sound changes .. OH and also what emfinite said .. change midi channels for every new track..

good luck configureing
