Pads going bad, or something wron with MPC?

So heres the prob. Ive been using my mpc, a lil bit latetly, and I realized that the whole left row of pads going down are like dead. If I put a sound onto them, they dont play the sounds. But if I do the same for any other pads outside of the left row, they work fine. Has anyone had this happen to them before? Do I need new pads, or some reparing on my mpc. By the way I have an mpc 2k.
