mpc and audio interface

ok yall.. bare wit me here... im learning more and more about this connection between the 1k and Audio Interface.. but there is still so much more im curious about..

i have been lookin at different interfaces and i really like the Mbox 2 pro tools le one... does this just plug into my laptops usb, and the mpc plugs into the mbox.. and it will directly record into the software?.. how does it work?.. do i stll do everything the same on the mpc.. and then play a whole sequence to record onto the software to mix and master?..

i just want to be able to take all of my tracks/sequences.. and get them into my compter to fix levels and everything, with good quality.. i know there are various other audio interfaces.. but im most curious about the mbox...

also with this i can plug mics into this and other peices of equipment right?.. please help me understand the connection between the mpc to the audio interface into the software.. and what cords i will need to do so...

please help.. and bare wit me.. im kinda new!!
