Im about to buy a mpc1000 but i have alot o questions

all i really wanna know is what exactley do i need to come from Guitar center to my house and can start making the music.

Ive' been using FL for a little bit and i like it but i wanna see what i can do with a mpc. I have studio monitors that are powered. a mpd16 and a m-audio usb audio inerface.

but to be honest im not ood at the tech stuff and i want to buy everything when i get my mpc so i can start makin music thanks all



ps. would gettng a mpc500 be better? what can the 1000 do that the 500 cant?

i dont know about the 500, but i have a mpc 1000. It is built like a cheap piece of shit. but it is still an ill machine

It is a cool machine, but it just isn't built like my mpc 2000xl. when I first spun the data wheel and moved the qlink sliders, and adjusted the volume knobs , it just felt cheap. but it is still an ill machine, and as long as I'm not too rough on it, it should last. and i can't imagine the 500 being any better.

oh but can u tell me what all i will need when i buy it. i wanna buy it all at once

don't buy the extras from guitar center. order some third party ram and get the hard drive/adaptor from VST. see the links in the 1k forum.

it depends what u want.

look for upgrades u may need for ur mpc, for example extra memory installed for more sample time.

as far as other gear it depends on what u are gonna do but u shouldn't go any further than a cheap midi keyboard or a turntable.

hah, I knew someone would say, well it depends what you want, duh he doesnt know thats why he asked. Ok get the mpc 1000, a mixer, an interface like an mBox and a decent editing program like cubase or pro tools if you can swing that. Ask the clerks at guitar center about what other prgms they have, there is a lot out there that vary in price

I know he doesn't know a lot, but guy should be able to go into more detail about what he wants. Are u talking about instruments to use with the mpc, recording, ect.

okay okay my bad yall. when i come home i want to be abloe to juststart making music i need a mpc and what else? i got some monitors (do those plug in to the mpc) i got a turntable with usb and rca cables (is that gonna hook up)

everything u got will work with the mpc. You may need some adapters. for example the rca cables wont go into the mpc, the mpc inputs are 1/4 inch.

get a turntable and mixer. so you will be able to chop samples. btw get a 2kxl mcd-they are dope. and get a rack mounted sound module for midi syncing.
