Sample a Record

Sample a Record

I want to be able to pan a record so that I can extract a sample from it.
I need another device to do this? Don't get it twisted i am not asking how to pan a sound within the MPC. While recording in I want to know how to pan the record so that I can isolate the sound that I will sample into the MPC.

2. Software Wise: What wave editor would be the best option to do the above?

in the sample screen go to where it says stereo and just select L/R channel.

not sure if i understood question.

Any wave editor can do that. That's what they do, edit waves.

Try what juxt said though.

A trick that sometimes works for me is to convert the stereo sample in its 2 mono samples.

Try using Audacity. It's a versitle little piece of software...and it's totally free. then take those wav's into your MPC via your card.
