the 4000 and motif es7 problem

yo i just managed to get my mpc synced up to pro tools which was one of my problems sorted, however i now have another problem (damn gettin hardware n new shit is so nice but i hate the teething problems!)

basically first thing which sounds like the easiest thing to solve as its obviously summin dumb

i got my motif and mpc wired up together in thinkin that i could record into my mpc putting different motif sounds on each track then proceed to put the files into pro tools however

when i play on the motif any sound, on random keys it decides it wants to trigger a drum sounds or something that is on the mpc which is real annoying and makes it so i cannot press certain keys when i record....which bring me onto the second thing and the hardest thing from what i can see

i set my mpc up, recorded some drums in and then started a new track ready to record some melodies and sounds from the motif to make the beat ... i changed the type: to inst and the midi selection so it was on the one with the motif in...great.... i could play the motif sounds on the mpc and the motif and record a melody in

but when i then finish with one melody and want to add some different sounds i change the track and goto change the sounds but it then plays the original melody with the new sound meaning i can only play one sound in a beat.....


has anyone got any ideas? could some one please help me out

you have to change the midi channel in both the mpc and the keyboard.
the first melody should be set to midi channel one on both unit. then record. then on the mpc go to the next track then set the mpc to midi channel 2 then set the keyboard to midi channel two then play a different tune and record. now you should be able to hear both sounds playing together.

any ideas how to do this on the motif es7? i looked in the manual and online and cannot find it anywhere?
