just picked up a Boss BR1180CD for $300 ( a steal of all steals!)...now i can finally track, mixdown, record and work my way to the top....

i've been searching this forum and a couple others for the past couple days, and i've read the manual also, yet i still can't find a clear cut way to get my hookup correct.....

all i want to do is synch the recorder as the slave...now i believe i did it correctly, because whenever i did anything on the MPC, the midi light on the recorder lit up, so i'm assuming that it's recognizing the signal.....

however, i'm not getting any kind of audio, and i know that midi isn't audio...

i'm working with a MPC2000XL with no 8 outs and it has the multicard drive....

could i be missing something? or are my settings not correct?....

if someone could just steer me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated....

thanx....

you did connect your audio outputs of the mpc to the audio inputs of the BR ?

first off, thanx for responding pt....

now that'd be the stereo outs on the MPC to the line in on the BR, right?

and if so, that would mean in order for me to get the BR to my monitors, it would go line outs on the BR to my monitors, right?

thats right.

audio signal path should look like this:

mpc stereo outs--> multitrack inputs-->multitrack moniter outs to the moniters.

from the sounds of it, the MIDI is hooked up right. read the manual on how to sync that multitracker to be a slave, then how to set the MPC to be the master. both should be in the manuals, but wont be specific to the gear your hooking them to.

have fun, hope this helps you out, if not, post you signal paths to and from so we can find whats wrong for ya.

Peace,

Rob

thanx rob....i think i have everything down as far as the master/slave thing...it was just the audio or lack thereof......

i really appreciate your feedback....*rushes to guitar center for cables*
