Hi,
I'm french (sorry for my english) and I got an MPC2000xl last week end.
I used to work on PC (Cubase,...) but this hardware is really new for me and I don't have any knowledges about it. I try to read my tutorial in english but it's sometimes pretty hard to understand the technical words.

I explain what I wanna do :
As I play in an acoustik hip hop band as a Dj, I would like to play some samples / sounds from my MPC in live on stage.
So I load some sounds .wav in the MPC I assign them to pads ; but then, I don't know how to save it correctly(the assignation of sounds on pads).
Do I have to save as a sequence - a project - a song ?...
Because I already lost all my datas one time, thinking the data save was ok but actually not !!!

Thank you for your help.

ALL = mixer settings, MIDI settings, contains all seq's performance data.

SEQ = saves the preformance of a single seq.

APS = All pgms and sounds, all pad assignments..

MID = MIDI file created from a single sequence, that can be loaded into most computer sequencers (there are 2 different types of MID files).

Me, for each song I save all my samples, APS and ALL, all in the same folder. Never fails for me..

Thanks a lot for your help.
I'm gonna try that tonight.

And when I've saved, imagine that I switch off and switch on then, how can I make an "auto load" of all the sound and assignements from my disk (floppy) to the MPC ?
